The Speed of Change
I love technology and I like to be in on the latest improvement but this commercial reminds me how that is impossible in today’s world. Several years ago I was in the market for a new laptop. I asked the person who worked at Best Buy how long it would be after my purchase that something new and better would replace it. His answer shocked me, “before you get out of the store.”
We live in the Millennium of CHANGE!
Organizations and people who refuse to change are going to wake up one day and realize they have been left behind. By the way at the rate of speed with change today, that won’t be long.

Ordination
This is a moment and event in my life and ministry I have anticipated for a long time, my ordination. On Sunday evening June 12th Bishop James Swanson, Rev. Ramon Torres, Rev. Ty Harrison, and Rev Meg Taylor placed their hands on me and prayed a prayer of ordination. I wish I could have heard the individual prayers of each one but that was impossible, however I did feel the power of God in those hands and in the prayers.
This is a new chapter in my life and ministry and I can feel the shaking and the moving that is happening in the heavens. It is amazing with all that action there is an amazing calmness in my spirit and that is the Holy Spirit at work. I am honored, humbled, ecstatic, overjoyed, and ready.

I have served with Ty for 7 years at 1st UMC Hillsville and for the past 6 months through Out of the Box Worship Center. Ty has taught me a lot and I am forever grateful. Ramon is the person God used to bring me into the UMC. I have learned a great deal from Ramon, he is a dear friend and a great leader and mentor in my life and ministry. These two men have invested a lot of time and energy in my life and ministry and I in turn will do the same for others.

About Ronnie G. Collins
I am the Planting Pastor of Out of the Box Worship Center and I also serve as the Associate Pastor of First United Methodist Church in Hillsville Virginia. We are a Multi Site Church, one church in multiple locations. Our 1st campus is located at 225 Fulcher Street in Hillsville Virginia. Our 2nd location is on Main Street in Hillsville, FUMC Downtown, Out of the Box Worship Center, and our 3rd location is 522 North Main Street in Hillsville and this is our Youth Ministry Center, FUMC Downtown “Out of the Box”, Youth Ministry. The most recent ministry we have is “Out Of The Box Worship Center” and we are located at 516 North Main Street Hillsville. This site is now my main focus, along with the Youth Ministry.
I have a Passion to see hurting people come to know Jesus Christ. I believe that we as Christians have to demonstrate God’s Love to the world, rather than just telling them they are loved. I am married and have 3 sons two very special nephews that are like sons, 3 grandchildren, 5 great nephews, and one great niece that are like grandchildren. I am a blessed man.
I attended school at Carroll County High School, Wytheville Community College, Liberty University, and Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary.
